Season One — Open Casting Call
TransAct Entertainment is casting for LOVE AFTER LIFE, an independent six-episode supernatural drama series filming in the New Jersey and New York City area.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Brooklyn, Love After Life explores love, loss, family, spirituality, and the extraordinary connections between the living and the dead.
When a young man with an inherited connection to the spirit world crosses paths with a woman rebuilding her life, their growing romance becomes entangled with unfinished business, family secrets, and the eerie supernatural.
We Are Casting
We are seeking talented performers for principal, recurring, guest, and day-player roles.
We welcome actors of diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, gender identities, and experience levels. Emerging performers are encouraged to submit.

A charismatic, artistic, and street-smart Brooklyn native with a playful spirit and natural charm. A sculptor and entrepreneur who possesses an inherited connection to the spirit world, Marquis must navigate love, family expectations, and supernatural responsibilities. Some topless, partial nudity. All simulated intimate scenes will be closed set with intimacy coordinator. Able to ride a skateboard and stage combat experience a plus but not necessary.
GENEVA RAMIREZ | Trans Woman, Early 30s | Lead
A confident, stylish Afro-Latina social worker and entrepreneur with a compassionate heart and independent spirit. Beneath her polished exterior is a woman determined to build a fulfilling life, find lasting love, and move beyond her painful past. Some topless, partial nudity. All simulated intimate scenes will be closed set with intimacy coordinator. Stage combat experience a plus but not necessary. Seeking a transgender actress.
GRANDMA ODA | Female, 70s | Principal
A sharp-tongued, hilarious, and fiercely loving grandmother with deep roots in Hoodoo and ancestral spirituality. A gifted psychic and family matriarch, Oda balances spiritual wisdom, outrageous humor, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

A charming, free-spirited touring music roadie with a colorful past and a gift for storytelling. Marquis's father and Oda's son, Maurice uses humor and charisma to conceal unresolved grief and complicated family relationships.

A charismatic but dangerously controlling man whose return threatens the life Geneva has worked hard to rebuild. Carlos can shift effortlessly between charm, emotional manipulation, and intimidation. Role involves choreographed physical violence.
